Form Studies
Nature & Form
Project Brief
To design playful static and dynamic forms by inspiring any natural object and its attributes.
Why Form inspired by Nature
Nature is a rich source of analogies and metaphors. Designers use metaphors in their designs to make a product more communicative and expressive both functionally and aesthetically. Natural forms have always been a source of inspiration in developing products by designers.
My Inspiration
My inspiration was an apple snail. Studied and analyzed the various properties and attributes of the apple snail
like- a perfect golden spiral (fibonacci), very hard & globose (round) shape, and pendulum movement of the shell. Drawing and sketching of the form were explored to help to understand the process of form extraction and its simplification. This helped to clarify an understanding of concepts in shape and form, their attributes, sense of scale and proportion, and playfulness. Form explorations had been done with various materials like aluminium, copper sheet, thermocol, pu foam, etc.
The final form was designed in thermocol with a fine layer of plaster of paris. The final form was playful and dynamic (if someone touched it, it motioned like a pendulum).

Basic Shapes & Radii Manipulation
Project Brief
The aim of this course was to develop skills in radii manipulation to integrate basic shapes to achieve desirable characteristics with emotive qualities. Also, it aimed to develop an understanding of shapes and space.

Basic Geometric Shapes were used to Create Compositions

Radii Manipulation was done on
the Final Composition
Workshop Skills
I have expertise in handling various materials like wood, aluminium, pvc, polystyrene sheet, plaster of paris, fibreglass, brass, copper, bamboo, soft materials, etc. I like to explore the properties of materials and used them according to needs.
